5 Counties Day One Stud Watch
Star watch after day one of the 2017 5 Counties tournament
Live On Flo This Week: 1/14: Eastern States, 5 Counties, | 1/15: Iowa at Oklahoma State, SDSU at Air Force, Oregon State at Wyoming
Two Jadens, a Joint and a Chasen. Some of the best stars in the country descended upon Foutain Valley high school for the annual 5 Counties tournament, one of the premier events in California.
To get you prepared for tomorrow morning's quarterfinals, which start at 9am Pacific and will be streamed LIVE on FloWrestling, here is a glimpse at how they did on the first day.
No. 14 Jaden Abas has some of the best single leg attacks in the country., and the Rancho Bernardo sophomore showed them off in his first round match below. He will face Jason Valencia of Northview in the quarters.
Gary Joint of Lemoore made his way into the rankings last month and has no designs on dropping out. The nation's 17th-ranked 132 pounder was so focused in his first match that he finished the tech without a shoe on.
Jaden Enriquez is up a weight this weekend after making his return last week at Doc B. It was expected the matches would be a little tougher up a weight, but Enriquez's upperbody slickness is slowly coming back to him.
Chasen Blair put on a show on his feet until the third period, though he did nearly get tossed for five in the second period. The UNC commit cruised to the quarters with three pins and faces
