World Champion Frankie Chamizo Stunned In German Bundesliga

Tony Rotundo Chamizo

2015 World champion and 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Frankie Chamizo of Italy was stunned Saturday night when he was cranked over and pinned by Cuba's Alejandro Valdes Tobier.

Tobier, who did not medal in Rio, was leading 7-2 when he got out to the side of Chamizo and started wrenching on his neck. When Chamizo tried to scramble out, Tobier pounced on him and put Chamizo to his back before pinning him. The match was part of the Budesliga, a German club wrestling league that is attracting some of the world's best freestyle and Greco wrestlers.
