Ethan Smith Verbals To Iowa State
One of the fastest rising prospects over the past few months has made his college decision. Over the weekend, Ethan Smith gave a verbal commitment to wrestle for Iowa State University.

Smith made his announcement on Twitter after visiting Ames this weekend. He has been a hot commodity over the past few months after placing third at FloNationals where he beat No. 7 Layne Van Anrooy twice, and recently a third place finish at Super 32 with his lone loss coming in overtime to fellow Iowa State commit Jake Allar.

An undefeated state champ in Maryland this past year, Smith is No. 49 on the Senior Big Board. He is slated to wrestle at 170 this year for Sparrows Point, where he is ranked 8th in the country.

The Cyclones now have four recruits in the Top-50 committed to this incoming class, after a very impressive haul last year as well. Smith will be joining Austin Gomez, Jarod Verkleeren and Jake Allar in Ames.
