Spencer Lee and Mark Hall got the men's freestyle team off to a great start a they each won gold at 50kg and 74kg, respectively.

At 60kg, Seth Gross had the most up-and-down matches as he lost to the eventual finalist from Turkey, then Ilman Mukhtarov of France in repechage. Despite the losses, Gross certainly left everything he had out on the mat.

Kollin Moore came out firing in his first match, and picked up an awesome 10-0 technical fall early before losing in the second round. 

The second day was a bit different. Alec Pantaleo and Zahid Valencia each opened up with big wins, but Daton Fix and Jordan Wood dropped their first matches. Valencia showed some Houdini-like skills and cat-like quickness in his wins, while Pantaleo was all about horsepower.

Despite losing, Fix put on an incredible performance against the eventual finalist, which brought him back in to repechage. And upon making his return, he  took advantage of his opportunity by recording dominating tech falls to qualify for the bronze-medal match.
