Gardner Webb announced Monday, May 9, the addition of Cody Walters and Mack McGuire to their wrestling coaching staff. Walters will join the staff as an assistant coach, and McGuire as a graduate assistant.

"We are excited to add two young men with outstanding wrestling credentials to our coaching staff," said Gardner-Webb head coach Daniel Elliott in the schools press release. "Both Cody and Mack earned great respect in the wrestling community for their success on the mat, but also for the way they conduct themselves. Their experience and character will be very important to the development of our wrestlers here at Gardner-Webb."

Walters heads south after turning in one of the best careers in Ohio University history. Walters won over 115 matches for the Bobcats, was a three-time MAC champion, and two-time NCAA All-American. Walters is known for his incredible scrambling ability, and brutal top game. Watch him take out Kent State's Mike Vollant:

Fellow MAC stud Mack McGuire comes to Boiling Springs after four outstanding seasons at Kent State. McGuire won over 100 matches, and was a four-time NCAA qualifier for the Golden Flashes. Watch McGuire take out Missouri's Matt Manley:

Gardner-Webb is coming off the best season in program history. The Runnin' Bulldogs won nine dual meets, and won a share of the Southern Conference regular season conference crown. Gardner-Webb also returns three NCAA qualifiers from last season (Boyce Cornwell, Austin Trott, Chris Vassar) along with previous NCAA qualifiers Hunter Gamble and Ryan Mosley.
