This was the week for winning streaks to come to an end. First, it was Buchanan defeating Clovis, then the wrestling world stood still when Orkhon Purevdorj defeated three-time Olympic Champ Kaori Icho by 10-0 technical fall in the finals of Yarygin.
Purevdorj dominated the match and kept the multiple time World Champ on her heals as she racked up a huge lead. Icho couldn't convert any of her attacks into points as the 2013 Junior World Bronze Medalist scored on each one of her opportunities extended her lead to 9-0 before collecting the final point to get the tech fall and claim the gold medal.
We haven't seen that type of performance against Icho since she lost in 2003 to Sara McMann. It's that eye-popping victory that makes Orkhon Purevdorj of Mongolia our FloWrestler of the Week.
Justin Hoyle, Wyoming Seminary: With the dual meet tied up at 22-22, Hoyle came through with a 6-1 decision over Rich Halal to give Wyoming Seminary the 25-22 win over Bergen Catholic.
Buchanan Wrestling Team: Brought 10-years of dominance to an end with a 32-27 win over Clovis. It was a total team effort that was all capped off when Matt Olguin got the regular decision win at 106 to clinch the dual victory.
Victoria Anthony, TMWC: Didn't give up a point on her way to the Dave Schultz Memorial tournament finals where she defeated 2012 Olympic Bronze Medaist, Clarissa Chun, 6-4.
