In high school wrestling, people see Blair Academy, Wyoming Seminary, and Buchanan as the top wrestling programs. Yet, Valiant College Preparatory is beginning to crack radars in their early existence. Valiant, created in Phoenix, Arizona in 2018, is the next prep school with loads of talent. However, the bright vision came with tough challenges early.

The Olympic Trials is the pinnacle of US wrestling. We were deprived of the quadrennial tournament in 2020, but on April 9-11, 2021, they return. Not just anyone will be able to compete, a wrestler must qualify by the procedures set forth by USA Wrestling, which can be found HERE. 

Some of the best wrestlers in the west will be meeting up in Utah for a strong round-robin event this Saturday, January 23. Arizona State and Wyoming travel to Utah Valley where they'll forgo the typical dual meet structure for individual round-robins that should set up some fantastic individual matchups. As always, COVID-19 could change the starting lineups, but if all teams are full strength, here are the biggest stories we expect to see.

The Captains' Cup, an event featuring many of the best women in the United States, is right around the corner. Teams for the event will be decided by a draft, and USA Wrestling has just released the athletes who are eligible to be drafted at 57 kg.
