125 - Thomas Gilman, Iowa vs Ronnie Bresser, Oregon State

1st Period: Underway here, both guys getting to ties right away. Gilman hits a slide-by for 2 in the first 30 seconds and now he's riding tough. Bresser hits a stand up and Gilman cuts him. 2-1 with 1:40 to go. Gilman getting super physical in the ties, goes to a front headlock. Gilman shoots him off the mat. No stall warning. Gilman shoots him off again and there's the warning against Bresser. Period ends.2nd Period: Bresser takes bottom. Gilman out to the side, tons of pressure and Bresser goes flat. Riding time at 1:40 for Gilman and climbing. Stall warning against Bresser and there's another point for Gilman. Bresser can't build up. 3-1 Gilman. Then there's a stall warning on Gilman from top. Pretty much the identical ride that Bresser got hit for stalling for, interestingly. Gilman rides out.

3rd Period: Gilman takes bottom. Bresser goes optional start then right to a front headlock. Escape Gilman and it's 4-1. Gilman taking ground here. Riding now locked for Gilman so it's effectively 5-1. Bresser in on a low single, Gilman locks around the waist and it's stalemated. 34 to go. Gilman in on a shot, nearly finishes but Bresser passes the leg. Time runs out and it's a 5-1 final.

133 - Emilio Saavedra, Old Dominion vs Josh Alber, UNI

1st Period: Saavedra in pursuit early to get to his ties. Alber staying nice and low. Front headlock for Saavedra and he's looking to go head in the hole. They break free. 1:50 to go. No committed leg attacks from either. 40 to go. A whole lot of nothin' going on. Waste of 3 minutes. 0-0 after 1. 2nd Period: Saavedra takes bottom. Alber is fantastic on top. 1:12 to go, Alber not able to get close to a turn but he's riding well. Stand up Saavedra but Alber returns. Saavedra escapes. Riding time at 1:01. Period ends.

3rd Period: Alber takes bottom. He escapes to make it 1-1. Alber fires off a single but Saavedra limp legs out. Alber picks up his pace and Saavedra is warned for stalling. 40 to go. Alber in on a shot as time expires.

SV1: Saavedra has looked for a drag, but can't get it. Alber takes another single, but Saavedra uses a whizzer to evade. 14 to go.

TB1: Alber takes bottom.Quick stand up and Alber is out in 3 seconds.
TB2: Saavedra takes bottom. He escapes. 2-2.

SV2: Another shot from Alber but then tries to go upper body and gets out of position and Saavedra comes behind for 2! Wow. Saavedra wins it 4-2.

141 - Andrew Long, Grand View vs Steve Bleise, NIU

1st Period: Bleise going double unders! Long throws with double overs, the refs screwed up the scoring, however and gave 2 to Bleise somehow. They're trying to sort it out. They are saying it's Bleise's points. Finally they fix it and make it 2-1 Long. Long goes up more. Score is still wrong on the scoreboard. Bleise escapes and is in on a single. It's 6-2 Long. 2nd Period: Long takes bottom. Long up and out right away. Long is just completely fearless. Over/under position. Long shoots, keeps the arm and gets a 6 point move out of it. 14-4 Long. 30 to go.

3rd Period: We're neutral. Long just doesn't stop. High single for Long and there's a stall point for Long. 19-5. Feet to back and there's the tech! What a performance!

149 - Brandon Sorensen, Iowa vs Jason Tsirtsis, Northwestern

1st Period: Here we go! #1 v. #3 in the country. 2 minutes in, not a lot going on. Period ends scoreless.2nd Period: Tsirtsis takes bottom. He sits out and escapes. 1-0 Tsirtsis. Both guys trade half shots. Tsirtsis nearly had an angle. Time runs out

3rd Period: Sorensen takes bottom. He escapes very quickly as well. 1-1 score. 90 seconds to go. Tsirtsis has taken quite a few attacks now but hasn't been able to finish. OT time

SV1: High crotch for Sorensen, he cracks it down for the finish and the win!


157 - Cody Pack, SDSU vs Thomas Gantt, NC State

1st Period: We're rolling here. Pack taking ground here. Gantt gets to his underhook but Pack clears. Big snap from Gantt but he can't get an angle. 1 minute to go. Inside reach single by Pack. Gantt has the far ankle and is in decent position. Blood time Pack. Period ends.

2nd Period: Pack takes bottom and gets a reversal. Gantt escapes. 2-1. Gantt goes double unders but Pack clears and gets to a single. Stalemated on the edge. Gantt in on a shot now trying to come out the back door. Pack has the ankle but Gantt gets a cradle for 2 and the period ends.

3rd Period: Gantt chooses bottom. He escapes. Pack gets in deep on a misdirect single but can't beat the hips of Gantt. 4-2 Gantt with 1:33 to go. Shot by Pack but a re-attack from Gantt gets him in position but Pack dives and catches an ankle and we've got a stalemate. Time runs out and Gantt wins 4-2.


165 - Tanner Weatherman, ISU vs Chad Welch, Purdue

1st Period: Finally back at it after a very long break (I dont know why). Single leg by Weatherman and he comes up with an underhook. They clear out. 1 minute to go and it's another shot from Weatherman. Welch dives over and is in decent position. Weatherman passes the leg but Welch ends up on top and scores the two, escape for Weatherman and it's 2-1 Welch after 1.

2nd Period: Whoa! Welch goes big with the mixer and pins! He's lethal there!



174 - Cody Walters, Ohio vs Jonathan Schleifer, Princeton

1st Period: Underway and hand fighting early here. Schleifer dictaing pace really well. He won their match earlier this year. Schleifer in on a shot but they're out of bounds.

2nd Period: Schleifer (wisely) chooses neutral. Wild ankle to ankle scramble after a shot by Walters. The scramble takes them off the mat and out of bounds.

3rd Period: Walters takes bottom and escapes immediately. Low single by Walters but a nice whizzer from Schleifer. Walters attacks the head but Schleifer passes the ankle. Walters takes another shot and once again Schleifer passes the leg but it's stalemated with 12 seconds to go.  Walters wins 1-0.


184 - David Taylor, NLWC vs TJ Dudley, Nebraska

1st Period: Magic Man looking for low shots right away!  He gets to a single but Dudley is doing a great job scrambling for the time being.  Dudley gets the takedown!  DT ends up with a leg and gets the reversal to make it 2-2.  He's riding really tough with Dudley flattened out.  He rides out.

2nd Period: Dudley takes bottom. Bar and half for DT and he's rolling across his back but can't get the turn yet.  Dudley was nearly away and DT was in on a single and they stalemated it.  Claw ride for DT.  

3rd Period:  DT takes bottom. RT at 2:13 for Taylor.  It's 2-2 on the scoreboard.  DT to his feet and is looking for hands.  Dudley nearly had the turn but DT recovers and gets the reversal.  Escape for Dudley and DT is immediately in on a shot.  He struggles to finish and they're out of bounds.  DT warned for stalling and it's a 4-3 win for Taylor.  


197 - Nathan Burak, Iowa vs Derek White, Nebraska

1st Period: Both guys get to the ties right away.  Burak fires off a half shot.  1:30 to go.  White trying to get to underhooks but Burak clears them.  Once again White looking for underhooks.  Time runs out.  

2nd Period: White takes bottom. Burak nearly sucks him back but couldn't quite hold him.  White goes out of bounds. Tripod stand up for White but Burak not giving it up.  Far knee, far ankle breakdown by Burak and he's flattened White out. He rides him out.

3rd Period: Burak takes bottom. White lets him up.  1-0 Burak and he also has 2 minutes of RT. Burak gets in on a single and finishes quick!  3-0 Burak now and riding time is close to locked.  Nearfall for Burak makes it a 6-1 final.


285 - Nick Gwiazdowski, NC State vs Tanner Hall, ASU

1st Period: Elbow off single for two by Gwiaz.  Just beautiful technique.  2-0 Gwiaz. Escape for Hall and he takes a high single but Gwiaz fights it off.  

2nd Period: Gwiazdowski takes bottom. He wound up on a leg and got the reversal to make it 4-1.  Escape for Hall and it's 4-2.  

3rd Period: Hall takes bottom. He escapes to make it 4-3. Underhook for Gwiazdowski with 40 to go.  Single by Gwiazdowski but Hall defends.  12 to go.  Gwiazdowski gets warned for stalling but takes home the title 4-3!
