Stevan Micic Granted 4 Years Of Eligibility
This Summer we caught up with Stevan Micic who discussed his decision to transfer out of Northwestern and why he chose Michigan as a final destination

Stevan made the decision to wrestle at Michigan fully aware that there was a strong possibility he would only get 3 years to compete for Michigan.  Typically when an athlete transfers from Big 10 school to Big 10 school, they forfeit a year of eligibility.  While the reasons for the Big 10 to grant an additional year to Stevan are unclear, it cannot be ignored that Drew Pariano's unceremonious firing from Northwestern could have played a factor in showing Stevan was leaving a less than ideal situation.

It looks like Micic will be able to have his cake and eat it too.  After redshirting last year, taking an Olympic Redshirt this year Micic learned he will still have four years to compete at Michigan.

Michigan shared their good new via Twitter:

Stevan has been training and competing freestyle exclusively since the Summer after winning Junior World Bronze.  Micic recently competed at the Bill Farrell Memorial a few weeks ago and gave 57kg champion Tyler Graff his toughest match of the tournament, nearly pulling the upset.

Michigan currently has a tremendous surplus of light weight talent with Connnor Youtsey, Austin Assad and Micic all listed as 125 pounders and all having eligibility for next year.  While one of those could and likely will go up to 133 to replace Rossi Bruno, that still will likely leave an odd man out.

With Logan Massa and a bevy of other talented blue chippers, the Wolverines look loaded for bear for the forseeable future.
