Drew Pariano Fired As Coach At Northwestern
Drew Pariano has been relieved of his duties as Head Coach of Northwestern. Details are limited at this point in time as to who the long-term successor will be. What we do know is that the Matt Storniolo has been named the Interim Head Coach in the meantime.
Northwestern is coming off of a tumultuous off season losing Assistant Coach Jay Borschel and 55kg Junior World Bronze medalist Stevan Micic. Micic transferred to Michigan and Borschel moved back to Iowa to start his own wrestling academy.
On the mat Northwestern has had consistent success. They’ve had 24 All-Americans since 2005 and 4 NCAA Champions in that time. On the roster right now they have plenty of talent with NCAA Champion Jason Tsirtsis still having two years to compete.
Northwestern had a massive recruiting haul with Bryce Brill, Stevan Micic and Johnny Sebastian 2 years ago. They already have #1 Nick Reenan as a verbal commitment for this coming year.
