Having learned about all of the controversies that Cary Kolat endured in episode two of the Story of Cary Kolat, how would you have dealt with everything?

At a young age Kolat decided he wanted to be the best in the world. When we consider all of the grueling and extreme training methods that Cary went through as a youngster, detailed in episode one, we can only imagine how the constant overturned matches and re-wrestled matches would have affected him.

Listen to Cary describe his emotions in the time following the gut-wrenching corruption that plagued his international career.

Cary Kolat reflects on the controversies that he encountered:

"You know I don’t know what... it was a lot of anger. You know, maybe it was a mix in of a  lot of anger. Every now and then some, probably some, some self pity, some - you know whatever you wanna - sadness. It was... I had every emotion possible. I will say this, there was a time it got, it really was like, there was a lot of sleepless nights.

I had plans to... I had thoughts of how I could kill people. I mean I really was like, I remember going down the road talking to myself and I was like, and I was working out plans. I mean I was at a whole different place and I was like, ‘This isn’t healthy anymore’, you know? I was just on track man. I was on track and these guys just kinda took it.

And Turnbull, Craig Turnbull, is a good friend, like I said, and he’s a psychology major, and he was always telling Erin, ‘He needs to go talk to somebody.’ But I’m like, talking to somebody, I’m talking to you right now. It’s not gonna change it. It will never, it will never change it. I don’t know what some psychologist could say; ‘Hey be happy about the way things played out. Look what you did’. I did a lot but it wasn’t what I... I had more to do and I didn’t get it done. So that won’t ever fix it either.

But I’m much better with it now. You know, as you get older you get a little more mellow. But I had some, there was a, yeah - I mean I thought about trying to find addresses on people. I mean your mind goes to crazy places. Now obviously I would have never acted on it. But yeah, I was in a bad place for a long time."

Cary Kolat came on Flo Radio Live to discuss the series, listen to his gut reaction here.
