Jared Platt In A Battle With Cancer

Recently, the wrestling community became aware that former Penn State and Blair Academy wrestler Jared Platt was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer. Jared has been all around the sport of wrestling making a tremendous impact through coaching and acting as a strong mentor.
From a very young age he was diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes and has been living with the illness basically his entire life. Not only did he fight to maintain a healthy lifestyle with a crazy number of doctors visits and monitoring everything on a daily basis, he recently started a website to raise awareness of Type 1 Diabetes as an advocate for the illness.
On his page he says “Wrestling and Diabetes have made me the person that I am today… My kids AND my dog think I’m pretty awesome. So that’s really cool.”
Along with the website, Jared also has a YouTube channel as well named “TeamDiabetic.” Check out his video below and click here to visit his channel. And visit his website by clicking here.
While living with Type 1 Diabetes, he has still trained and competed in MMA and jiu jitsu over the years along with coaching. With the terrible news that Jared now has Stage 4 Cancer, his family, friends and countless loved ones have created a gofundme page. To visit the page and make a donation, click here.
There will also be a clinic held at the Buxton School of Wrestling on October 24th in Sparta, NJ to raise funds as well. The clinicians will include Pat Santoro, John Hughes, Dave Zabriskie, Zach Rey, Frank Molinaro, Phil Davis and Jeff Buxton,
