Yianni Diakomihalis Wins Cadet Worlds
New York's Yianni Diakomihalis was Team USA's most recent Cadet World Champion. Yianni was utterly impressive from start to finish winning by tech, pin, tech, 10-5 and 6-3!
Yianni sealed the Gold medal with a 6-3 win over Japans Jintaro Motoyama. Yiannis' fearless approach and high pace proved to be too much for the 58kg field. Down 0-2 early in his finals match, Yianni hit a clean left side high crotch and finished for 4. That shot ultimately was the difference in the match.
Also bringing home hardware for Team USA was Owen Webster at 85kg. Webster won 1-1 on criteria in his Bronze medal match over. Check out the matches and results below.
