Former Edinboro two-time All-American, and current Cliff Keen Wrestling Club athlete, David Habat, will be representing Slovenia at next months World Championships in Las Vegas at the 65kg weight class.

Habat is able to compete for Slovenia because his mother was born there, and the family still owns a house in the country. Habat was also able to obtain his passport earlier this season. Habat is training with CKWC and coach Andy Hrovat in Michigan because Slovenia does not have a freestyle team.

During his days competing for the Fighting Scots, Habat was a two-time All-American, and finished his career with a runner-up finish at the NCAA Tournament. After graduating from Edinboro, Habat decided to move to Michigan and join the Cliff Keen Wrestling Club in Ann Arbor.

After this years World Championships Habat will also look to qualify the weight for the Slovenian Olympic team for the 2016 Olympics in Rio.
