Welcome to freestyle; It's leg grabbin' time! 17 wrestlers were crowned National Champions in Greco on Monday and are looking to double up in Free.

There are four returning finalists, three of them champs, from 2014 - most of them lightweights. We're also going to be witness to a new wave of talent - guys like Kurt McHenry, Nick Raimo, Brock Hardy, Travis Wittlake, and Cohlton Schultz who represent the brightest of young American stars.

Below we'll list contenders with a sampling of their accomplishmensts, give a little context, and make our picks!

88
Last Year’s Final: Malik Heinselman, CO tf. Jason Holmes, AZ, 16-6.

Kaden Cassidy (PA) – 2014 ASICS Kids Nationals Freestyle 3rd
Chris Trelli (CT) – 2015 Northeast Regional Champ
Chase Tebbets (WA) – 2015 ASICS Open Kids Champ
Logan Ashton (GA) – 2015 Freestyle/Greco State Champ, 2015 Southeast Regional Champ
Lucas Byrd (OH) – 2015 Central Regional Champ (both styles)
Mosha Schwartz (CO) – 2015 UWW Cadet Freestyle runner-up
Max Crowe (MN) – 2014 ASICS Kid Freestyle Nationals 3rd

Commentary: A group of relative newcomers, Mosha Schwartz headlines the opening weight class after finishing runner-up in Akron. Ashton, Byrd, and Crowe have been guys on, or in the honorable mention of, the Junior High Big Board. Along with Schwartz and Byrd, Tebbets was an AA this week in GR.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Schwartz  2. Ashton  3. Byrd  4. Tebbets
Devin’s picks: 1. Schwartz  2. Byrd  3. Ashton  4. Tebbets
Bratke's picks: 1. Schwartz 2. Byrd 3. Tebbets 4. Ashton
Willie's picks:  1. Byrd   2. Tebbets   3. Schwartz   4. Ashton

Conrad Braswell (IA) – 2015 UWW Freestyle 5th
Kurt McHenry (VA) – 2014 Middle School FloNationals Champ

Commentary: Really great field for such a light weight. Koelzer and Severado turned heads in GR this week and we'll have our eyes on them in FS. Phippen should be among the leaders for the stop sign along with Heinselman, who is a returning champ. The giant X-factor here is McHenry, who is one of the premier in coming freshmen in the country. He currently sits at #16 on the Big Board.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Heinselman  2. Phippen  3. Barnett  4. Dias
Devin’s picks: 1. Heinselman  2. Phippen  3. Barnett  4. Dias
Bratke's picks: 1.  Heinselman 2. Koelzer 3. McHenry 4. Phippen
Willie's picks: 1. McHenry  2. Koelzer   3. Heinselman   4. Phippen

Rhett Golowenski (OK) – 2015 UWW Cadet runner-up
Eric Faught (IA) – 2015 Iowa Freestyle State runner-up, 2015 Flo Reno Worlds runner-up
Gabriel Tagg (OH) – 2015 UWW Cadet Freestyle 8th

Commentary: Iowa has a strong presence at this weight. Faught and Biscoglia are both hammers that have been staples on the Big Boards. Travis Ford-Melton draws high praise out of Illinois and like McHenry at 94, we'll get our first look at him on the high school national stage here. I'm leaning heavily towards Golowenski though. He looked flat out nasty in Akron.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Golowenski  2. Ogunsanya  3. Peak  4. Ford-Melton
Devin’s picks: 1. Golowenski  2. Ogunsanya  3. Ford-Melton  4. Fox
Bratke's picks: 1. Golowenski 2. Ford-Melton 3. Faught 4. Biscoglia
Willie's picks: 1. Golowenski  2. Biscoglia  3. Ford-Melton  4. Faught

Jordan Ward (OH)
Matt Vinci (NJ) – 2015 Northeast Regional 4th
Quincy Monday (TX) – State Cadet Greco Champ
Sean McKenna (IL) – 2015 Illinois Freestyle State Champ

Commentary: The two lead dogs here are WTM D'Emilio and Riley Gurr, who is part of a talented young group coming through in Washington. I love the talent in Abas. He's been a little up and down, but he's a real title threat. Faber has had a great spring/summer. And I have a hunch Cashman will play a big part in this bracket. But the guy I'm looking to is Busiello. He's a special talent and I fully believe this will be his national coming out party.

Holmes’ picks: 1. D’Emilio  2. Busiello  3. Gurr  4. Sandoval
Devin’s picks: 1. D’Emilio  2. Johnson  3. Gurr  4. Macri
Bratke's picks:  1. D'Emilio 2. Cashman 3. Abas 4. Gurr

Sam Webster (MN) – 2015 Minnesota State runner-up, 2014 Greco 5th
Logan Treaster (KS) – 2015 UWW Cadet Freestyle 8th
Ian Dembowski (IN) – 2015 Indiana Freestyle State Champ
Chase Bittle (IL) – 2015 Illinois Freestyle State Champ
Matty Parker (PA) – 2014 Cadet 3rd
Jordan Decatur (OH) – 2015 UWW Cadet 5th
Carmen Ferrante (NJ) – 2015 Northeast Regional runner-up
Jonathan Gomez (NY) – 2014 Cadet Freestyle 8th
Josh Breeding (OH) – 2015 Northern Plains 3rd
Rodrick Mosley (OK) – 2015 Southern Plains Freestyle Champ
Tommy Hoskins (OH)
Van Schmidt (NE)

Commentary: After making the finals in GR, Roman Bravo-Young told us there's a real chance he moves up to 120 for FS. Despite his absence, 113 is a monster field. Jordan Decatur, who everyone knew was a talent, announced his arrival in Akron by pinning RBY. I'm looking at Mosley as a guy who can make a run. He's incredibly talented but didn't wrestle Fargo last year. Parker's only loss last year came to RBY. Hoskins was a Super 32 finalist last fall. Also keep an eye on Stuart and Teske who are legit title contenders.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Parker  2. Teske  3. Mosley  4. Decatur
Devin’s picks: 1. Parker 2. Decatur 3. Robb  4. Stuart
Bratke's picks: 1. Mosley  2. Parker   3. Stuart 4. Decatur
Willie's picks:  1. Mosley  2. Parker   3. Decatur  4. Stuart

120
Last Year’s Final: Dylan Duncan, IL dec. Yianni Diakomahalis, NY, 12-4.

Roman Bravo-Young (AZ) – 2015 UWW Cadet Freestyle 3rd, 2014 Cadet Greco and Freestyle Champ
Jack Karstetter (OK) – 2015 Southern Plains Greco and Freestyle Champ
Will Lewan (IL) – Illinois Freestyle State Champ
Alex Thomsen (IA) – Iowa Kids/Cadet Freestyle and Greco Champ, Northern Plains 3rd (Greco), Northern Plains 4th (Freestyle)
Nicholas Raimo (NJ) – 2015 Northeast Regional Freestyle Champ
Max Murin (PA) – 2015 Northeast Regional Champ, 2014 Cadet Freestyle runner-up
Jet Taylor (OK) – Oklahoma Freestyle State Champ
Cameron Valdiviez (MO) – 2015 Southern Plains Freestyle and Greco Champ
Tyler Eischens (MN)
Zander Silva (CA) – 2015 California High School State 5th

Commentary: Bravo-Young is expected to move up after making the finals in GR at 113. A double Fargo champ last year, he's probably still the consensus pick at 120. He beat Murin in the finals here last year. Murin and Thomsen continue to post encouraging results. Nick Raimo is an outright hammer as an incoming Freshman. He made the finals in GR as well.

Holmes’ picks:  1. Bravo-Young  2. Raimo  3. Murin  4. Lewan
Devin’s picks:   1. Bravo-Young 2. Murin  3. Thomsen  4. Raimo
Bratke's picks: 1. Bravo-Young 2. Raimo 3. Murin 4. Lewan
Willie's picks: 1. Raimo  2. Thomsen  3. Bravo-Young   4. Murin

126
Last Year’s Final: Chad Red, IN dec. Jaden Enriquez, CA, 4-3.

Jason Renteria (IL) – 2015 UWW Cadet & University Nationals 6th, Illinois Cadet Greco State Champ
Timmy Kane (CT) – UWW Cadet Freestyle 8th, 2015 Northeast Regional Champ
Zach Villarreal (IL) – 2015 Southeast Regional Champ
Hunter Jump (OK) – 2015 Oklahoma State Freestyle and Greco Champ
Kyran Hagan (MO) – 2015 Missouri Freestyle State Champ
Mason Phillips (WA) – 2015 UWW Cadet Greco 8th, 2015 FS State Champ
Justin Mccoy (PA) – 2015 Northeast Regional 3rd
Anthony Madrigal (IL) – 2015 Illinois State Champ, 2014 Cadet Freestyle 6th
Danny Bertoni (MD) – 2015 Maryland freestyle state champ
Jacori Teemer (NY) – 2015 New York High School State Champ
Raynger Keckler (UT) – 2015 Utah Freestyle state Champ

Commentary: Outside of JRent being a megastar and being the pre-tournament favorite, this looks like one of those Fargo brackets where a million things could happen. The field is deep pool of wrestlers that are about the same level of talent and production. Kane had an eye-opening win over Eric Hong at the Northeast Regional. And Hagan could continue is upward trajectory. Teemer is an interesting entry. The NYS folk champ doesn't have much FS experience. Also watch for Madrigal, who was one of the top ranked 106lbers during much of the regular season.

Holmes’picks: 1. Renteria   2. Kane   3. Villarreal   4. Madrigal
Devin’s picks: 1. Renteria  2. Kane  3. Villarreal  4. Madrigal
Bratke's picks: 1. Renteria 2. Kane 3. Hagan 4. Madrigal
Willie's picks:  1. Kane   2. Renteria   3. Hagan   4. Madrigal

Last Year’s Final: Nick Lee, IN tf. Jaime Hernandez, IL, 11-0.

Vitali Arujau (NY) – 2015 NE runner-up, 2015 UWW Cadet Freestyle runner-up
Alec Hagan (MO) – 2015 Missouri Freestyle State Champ
Alex Lloyd (MN) – 2015 UWW Cadet Freestyle 8th, 2014 Cadet Freestyle 5th
Brock Hardy (UT) – 2015 West Junior Freestyle Champ
Dakota Galt (SD) – 2015 South Dakota State Freestyle and Greco Champ
Jason Kraisser (MD) – 2015 Maryland State Champ
Nelson Brands (IA) – 2015 Southeast Regional Cadet Champ
Will Janzer (OR)
Sam Sasso (PA)
Sam Eckhart (ID) – 2015 West Cadet Champ
Aaron Brooks (MD) – 2015 Maryland Freestyle runner-up
JJ Figueroa (CA) – 2015 California Freestyle State Champ
Zach Lee (WI)

Commentary: No shortage of high-powered contenders here. Arajau was 3rd a year ago and a runner-up at the Cadet trials. He's followed by JJ Figs, who's ranked 9th in the country. Then there's a trio of stud sophomores-to-be. Sam Sasso has wins over the likes of perennial Fargo AA Taylor Lamont and other studs. Hardy is a flat out beast and amazing in the international styles. Aaron Brooks has been a staple in the bog board rankings. Speaking of beating studs, Dakota Galt pinned Mitch McKee at JR Duals.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Arujau  2. Lloyd  3. Sasso 4. Hardy
Devin’s picks: 1. Hardy  2. Arujau  3. Sasso  4. Lloyd
Bratke's picks: 1. Hardy 2. Arajau 3. Sasso 4. Lloyd
Willie's picks:  1. Hardy  2. Sasso  3. Arajau  4. Brooks

138
Last Year’s Final: Ethan Karsten, MO tf. Shayne Oster, IL, 10-0.

Andrew Merola (NJ) – 2015 USAW Cadet Greco Nationals 6th
Farouq Muhammad (OH)
Joe Lee (IN) – 2015 UWW Greco 8th
Philip Conigliaro (NJ) – 2015 Northeast Regional Champ
Shane Griffith (NJ)
Tyler Shilson (MN) – 2015 Northern Plains Champ
Ryan Hansen (UT) – 2015 Utah Freestyle State Champ
Tanner Eischens (MN)

Commentary: Relative to the bonkers weights around them (132 and 145), 138 is kinda thin. Andrew Merola had a slow start to his freshman season at Blair, but has looked sharp lately. Another Jersey freshman, Griffith won a state title and has posted some great wins along the way. Lee and Merola have split matches this summer with Lee pinning Merola in Akron and Merola getting revenge in a 16-15 win at Duals.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Merola  2. Griffith  3. Muhammad  4. Lee
Devin’s picks: 1. Griffith 2. Merola 3. Shilson 4. Conigliaro
Bratke's picks: 1. Griffith 2. Merola 3. Lee 4. Muhammed
Willie's picks:  1. Griffith  2. Lee  3. Merola  4. Muhammad

Jake Patterson (KS) – 2015 Southern Plains 3rd, Kansas Freestyle Champ
Sammy Cokeley (KS) – 2015 Southern Plains Freestyle and Greco Champ
Nicholas Palumbo (NJ) – 2015 Northeast Regional Champ
Tyler Dow (WI) – 2015 Northern Plains Regional Champ
Anthony Artalona (FL) – 2015 UWW Cadet Freestyle 4th

Joel Shapiro (IA) – 2015 Iowa Freestyle State 3rd
Kameron Frame (KS) – 2015 Southern Plains Freestyle runner-up
Kendall Frame (KS) – 2015 Southern Plains 4th

Commentary: David Carr is simply on another level. Anything but a title would be surprising. I'm super high on Artalona. He looked great in Akron where he made quick work of Stephan Glasgow (NJ). But there are several other young studs here. Both Redlin and Curry will be househould names soon. Perhaps as soon as Friday.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Carr  2. Artalona  3. Richard  4. Curry
Devin’s picks: 1. Artalona  2. Cokeley  3. Palumbo  4. Richard
Bratke's picks: 1. Carr 2. Artalona 3. Richard 4. Curry
Willie's picks: 1. Carr   2. Artalona  3. Curry  4. Richard

152
Last Year’s Final: Trey Meyer, WA dec. Johnny Blankenship, MO, 9-7.

Jake Allar (MN) – 2015 Northern Plains Champ, 2015 UWW Greco Champ
Trevell Timmons (IL) – 2015 UWW Cadet 3rd

Michael O’Malley (NJ) – 2015 Northeast Regional Champ
Robert Patrick (PA)
Max Wohlabaugh (FL) – 2015 UWW Greco 8th
Tate Samuelson (CO) – 2015 Southern Plains Runner Up

Commentary: While there isn't the star power at this weight, there are a number of intriguing up-and-comers. Allar leads the pack followed by Timmons, who beat last year's Fargo runner-up Johnny Blankenship, this year in Akron. Nakamatsu was a hammer a couple years ago before a growth spurt. Now, it looks like he's back to stud status. Keep an eye on him. Patrick was a PA state runner-up as a freshman.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Timmons  2. Patrick 3. Allar  4. O’Malley
Devin’s picks: 1.  Timmons  2. O’Malley  3. Allar 4. Wohlabaugh
Bratke's picks: 1. Timmons 2. Patrick 3. Allar 4. O'Malley
Willie's picks:  1. Timmons   2. Allar   3. Patrick   4. O'Malley

160
Last Year’s Final: Brandon Dallavia, NJ dec. Owen Webster, MN, 11-7.

Ryan Karoly (NJ) – 2015 Northeast Regional Champ
Travis Wittlake (OR) – 2015 West Regional Champ
Joshua Myers (TX)
Trent Hidlay (PA) – 2015 Northeast Regional runner-up
Kyle Cochran (NJ) – 2015 Northeast Regional 3rd
Marcus Coleman (IA) – 2015 Cadet Iowa Freestyle Champ
Zach Peterson (MN) – 2015 Southern Plains Freestyle 3rd

Commentary: Karoly and Wittlake met in the GR finals on Monday and they'll be on a collision course in FS as well. They've been two of the top prospects in their grade for years. Edge to Wittlake in the international styles. He's won like a gazillion youth titles in FS/GR. If you're looking for an upset special, check out Marcus Coleman, the Iowa big school state champion.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Wittlake  2. Karoly   3. Cochran  4. Coleman
Devin’s picks: 1. Karoly 2. Hidlay 3. Wittlake  4. Cochran
Bratke's picks: 1. Wittlake 2. Karoly 3. Coleman 4. Hidlay
Willie's picks: 1. Coleman   2. Wittlake   3. Karoly   4. Hidlay

Last Year’s Final: Beau Breske, WI dec. Kamal Bey, IL, 9-6.

Anthony Falbo (CT) – 2015 Virginia Beach Nationals 4th
Jack Jessen (IL) – UWW Cadet Freestyle 8th, 2014 Cadet Fargo 3rd (both styles)
Jacob Warner (IL) – 2015 UWW Cadet 3rd, 2014 Cadet Fargo 5th (both styles)
John Borst (VA)
Caden Steffen (MN) – 2015 Northern Plains Greco runner-up

Anthony Sherry (IA) – 2015 NP Champ, UWW Cadet Greco 8th, 2014 Fargo double AA
Jacob Gray (IN) – 2015 Indiana Freestyle State Champ

Commentary: There's a 'big three' here with Jessen and Warner, who met in GR finals on Monday and Anthony Sherry, who was 6th last year. Watch for Borst, who was undefeated at Cadet Duals with a wins over Bartel and Gray. Borst was Gray's only FS loss at Duals.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Warner  2. Jessen  3. Steffen  4. Sherry
Devin’s picks: 1. Warner  2. Sherry  3. Bartel  4. Jessen
Bratke's picks: 1. Jessen 2. Warner 3. Gray 4. Sherry

Weston Hunt (CO) – 2015 Colorado Freestyle and Greco State Champ
Jacob Raschka (WI) – 2015 Northern Plains 2nd
Noah Adams (WV) – 2015 UWW Cadet Freestyle 8th

Commentary: Whitman has been one of the best young wrestlers in the country and his 3rd place performance in Akron didn't do anything but solidify that reputation. He beat both of the other heavy hitters here - Raschka and Davison. Others that are serious title threats are Adams and Anthony Walters, who was a GR finalist this week.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Whitman  2. Davison  3. Florell 4. Morrison
Devin’s picks: 1. Whitman 2. Davison 3. Florell 4. Hunt
Bratke's picks: 1. Whitman 2. Davison 3. Adams 4. Walters
Willie's picks:  1. Whitman  2. Davison  3. Adams   4. Raschka

Jared Walker (ID) – 2015 West Regional Champ
Brady Daniel (MD)
Colton Wolfe (NE) – 2015 Nebraska Freestyle State Champ
Bryce Esmoil (IA) – 2015 Iowa Freestyle and Greco State Champ

Commentary: Good group here with multiple regional winners. Daniel was undefeated at Cadet Duals giving Hoffman one of his two losses. He was also in GR finals Monday.
Prince and Esmoil beat Villalobos at folk nationals this spring.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Hoffman  2. Prince  3. Daniel  4. Esmoil
Devin’s picks: 1. Prince  2. Hoffman  3. Walker  4. Villalobos
Bratke's picks: 1. Daniel 2. Prince. 3. Hoffman 4. Esmoil

Trenten Rogich (MN)
Max Darrah (MO) – 2015 ASICS 3rd Place, 2015 Missouri Freestyle State runner-up

Commentary: Two of the best big men in the country in any style or division. Steveson claimed his spot atop the rankings by beating then-#1 Jordan Wood in Akron. Schultz was 3rd there, losing only to Wood. Hutchison has wins over Zalapi and Darrah in folk. Zalapi was undefeated in Cadet Duals. Schultz and Hutchison met in GR finals this week.

Holmes’ picks: 1. Steveson  2. Schultz  3. Darrah  4. Zalapi
Devin’s picks: 1. Steveson  2. Schultz  3. Zalapi  4. Rogich

Kendrick Watson (NC)
Brendan Furman (PA)
Sammy De Seriere (CO) – 2015 Southern Plains Champ
Wyatt Wriedt (IA) – Iowa Freestyle State Champ

Commentary: Nye was undefeated in Duals and made GR finals. De Seriere only lost one match (Nye in GR) across both styles at Duals. He met Cassioppi in the 3rd place bout in GR this week. After beating Kleuver, Cassioppi, and De Seriere, Boykin met Nye in the finals.
