The New York Giants selected Owamagbe Odighizuwa in the 3rd round of the NFL draft on Friday night. The Defensive End from UCLA was selected with the 74th overall pick and came out of David Douglas High School (Ore.) ranked by every major scouting publication as a top recruit.
So why is this a wrestling story?
Both of Owamagbe’s brothers are top flight wrestling prospects. Ihoghama (197lbs.) finished as a runner-up at the National Junior College Championships wrestling for Clackamas. He is signed to continue his career at Oregon State.
And ‘baby’ brother Osawaru won ‘Fargo,’ the National Freestyle Championship last summer. Currently a junior in high school, FloWrestling projects Osuwaru as the #1 heavyweight prospect for the Class of 2016.
