FloWrestler of the Week: Greg Diakomihalis, NY
The name Diakomihalis has become synonymous with championships.
Normally, we would be talking about Cornell-bound Yianni Diakomihalis, but over the weekend it was his younger brother, Greg, that stole the show and won the 92-pound School Boy division title.
In the final, Diakomihalis defeated Jaxon Smith of Georgia, who is in the top 50 on our Junior High Big Board. Little D was also fresh off a runner up finish at FloNationals before taking the Ohio TOC title.
Other FloWrestler of the Week Nominees:
Holmes’ pick: Xavier Montalvo, IL
Montalvo is an absolute machine. He recently claimed a state title and followed it up by winning his second straight FloNationals belt, now he took care of the field and won the Ohio TOC championship at 171-pounds with a win over FloNational third place finisher Devon Skatzka of Michigan on the way to his title.
Willie’s pick: Dylan Duncan, IL
Duncan defeated Kanen Storr of Michigan in the finals to win the 132-pound Elite Division title at the Ohio TOC.
Bratke’s pick: Luke Fortuna, IL
Came away with the title in the Elite Division at 160-pounds with a win over PA’s Nino Bonaccorsi.
CP’s pick: Louie Hayes, IL
