Bookended by Blair!
Myles Martin completed his high school career on Saturday with a very solid championship run capped off with a 10-4 win over Blair’s Chase Singletary in the final to claim his third National Prep title.
Not only was it Martin’s third title, but also it was his fourth trip to the Prep finals. As a young freshman he began his Prep dominance, which was only halted by Russ Parsons of Blair in the final. And that would be the final loss that the future Ohio State Buckeye would take at the prep tournament.
His final Prep run started with a pair of falls, which was followed up by a 17-7 major decision in the semis before coming to a close with the victory over Singletary.

Vinny’s pick: Jack Mueller, Wyoming Seminary
Mueller made it three in row with his 4-1 win over Blair’s Requir Van Der Merwe in the 120-pound final. He absolutely dominated the field on his way to the final with three pins and a tech fall before taking the top spot for the third straight year at the Prep tournament.
Holmes’ pick: Jordan Kutler, Blair
Kutler was on another level as he claimed the 152-pound National Prep title. In the finals he defeated #4-Cam Harrell of McDonogh, 6-3. Kulter gave up the initial takedown to Harrell, but fought back and out-paced Harrell to get the win.
Willie’s pick: Matt Kolodzik, Blair
Was easily the most dominant wrestler in the entire Prep tournament. He collected four pins in a combined time of 9:31then completed his day with a 17-2 tech in 5:54 over John Errico in the final.
Bratke’s pick: Chaz Tucker, Blair
Claimed his second title and some revenge over Georgetown Prep’s Eric Hong with a 3-1 overtime win in the Prep finals. Hong defeated Tucker in last season’s final and Tucker showed that he made the proper adjustments as he defeated Hong to win the title.
CP’s pick: Tyshawn Williams, Archbishop Curley
He defeated Wyoming Seminary’s Danny Boychuck and Kevin Budock of Good Counsel to win the Prep title at 145. His victory over Budock was the second time in two weeks he upset the now two-time runner-up.
