Ke-Shawn, Kolodzik Match Up at WNO
Two great high school careers will be starting their swan song this year and though they've always been close in weight, they've never met.
That will change at Who's #1 when Ke-Shawn Hayes and Matt Kolodzik, who wrestled and won 120 and 126 Ironman titles last year, meet at The Snakepit on October 18th.
The two studs have combined for five Ironman finals appearances in their six career trips their.
Wrestling for Missouri power Park Hill, Ke-Shawn has been incredibly productive and consistent. He's placed 3-1-1 in state. In his last three trips to Fargo and last two appearances at Ironman, Ke-Shawn has never lost more than one match. He's placed 3-3-2 in his last three Fargos, and 2-1 at Ironman.
In his fantastic run at Ironman last year, Hayes beat Eric Hong, who would go on to win the Prep National Title, Austin Assad, who would win Fargo, and Brent Fleetwood, who was also Runner-Up at the Beast.
Matthew Kolodzik seems to make the finals everywhere. He won a state title in Ohio before moving to Blair Academy and winning two National Prep titles.
He's reached the finals of Ironman and Beast of the East every time he's entered them.
His latest exploits was a Runner-Up finish at FILA Juniors where he posted four techs and a fall over five college wrestlers.
It's about time these two meet.
