Brock vs. Piccininni at WNO
Brock vs. Piccininni at WNO

If you asked me to pick the match-up I'd like to see most in the high school universe, it would be a slam dunk.
There's flat out no match between any two individuals that I'd want to see more than Kaid Brock vs. Nick Piccininni.
Regardless of rankings, regardless of weight class, regardless of any story line, Brock and Piccininni, with their 'always score' approach, would be sure to excite.
Let's face it, highly ranked match ups don't always produce excitement. But this one will.
So when we locked in Brock-Piccininni for this year's Who's #1, I was beyond stoked.
Not only are they two of the most exciting wrestlers, not only is it for the #1 spot in the country, not only are they currently listed as the #5 and #7 recruits in the country, but then, this happened...
Piccininni, who was the highest ranked prospect still uncommitted, announced through Flowrestling, that he had chosen Oklahoma State over Ohio State and Penn State.
What's that mean?
It means that Piccininni and Brock, who had already committed to OSU, will be Cowboy teammates together.
Whether they are wrestling off for a spot at 125 or forming what will likely be one of the strongest 1-2 punches at 125 and 133, Piccininni's commitment to OSU made the most exciting match-up at Who's #1 even more dynamic and consequential.
Here's the skinny...
Nick Piccininni is the #1-ranked wrestler in the country at 126lbs. A three-time state champ, Piccininni captured a FloNational title in April, and with his major decision over then-#1 Luke Pletcher, the top spot in the nation.
Brock is a two-time Fargo finalist who was oh-so-close to making his third straight trip to the big stage this summer. He's also beaten several college wrestlers at the U.S. Open and JR World Team Trials, where he was 3rd.
It goes down October 18th at Who's #1 in Grace Hall. You definitely don't want to miss this one.
