I can’t lie, how can you know really which way to go for Flowrestler of the Week after all the performances we just had? My jaw hit the floor at least once a round without fail just watching how great these young guys are. I wanted to find someone who not only won impressively, but did so against elite competition. Enter Isaiah White. White dominated a field that contained Fredy Stroker, Mike Kemerer, Grant Leeth, Mark Voss, Vincenzo Joseph and more. Nobody was close. White’s dominant performance at Fargo left a huge impression on me. For his efforts Isaiah White has been named the Flowrestler of the Week.
Other Flowrestler of the Week Nominees:
Jimmy Kennedy - Only needed two matches to dispatch Olympic Bronze medalist Coleman Scott. The second match being by technical fall. He’s clicking on all cylinders heading into Worlds.
Austin Assad - Everything was going to plan in the Russell/Assad final. Assad had wrestled admirably, but this would be the end of a great run. Austin had other ideas delivering a big four pointer and a series of turns late in the match to take a Fargo title at 120.
Bobby Steveson - In the last year Bobby Steveson has beaten Johnny Sebastion, Sammy Colbray and Lance Benick. You have my attention, Mr. Steveson.
Beau Breske - The early stages of a very rapidly growing legend. Beat a very tough Kamal Bey twice to complete the Triple Crown.
Danny Vega - Nobody technically caught my eye more than Vega. He doubled up winning both Greco and Freestyle titles. Cannot wait to watch him going forward.
Mitchell McKee - Not sure anybody embodies a no-quit attitude more than Mitchell McKee. I’ll never forget his comeback against Kaid Brock, and his performance against Chaz Tucker for the Fargo title was equally impressive. Awesome kid.
Austin Gomez - Made both finals for the second straight year, winning 3 of 4 Fargo titles. And he was using high-level techinique and a non-stop motor to do so.
