On a day where three of the four U.S. representatives earned a medal, Tyler Caldwell led the way earning University World Gold in Pecs, Hungary.

Caldwell defeated Russia's Shamil Osmanov, who was 5th at this year's Yarygin, in the finals.

Wrestling at 74KG, the 2014 NCAA Runner-Up for Oklahoma State also defeated opponents from Slovakia, Canada, and the Ukraine.

The U.S. representative at 97KG, Dustin Kilgore reached the finals after besting foes from Hungary and Russia. An NCAA Champion for Kent State, Kilgore would have to settle for Silver after dropping his finals match to Faith Yasarli (TUR), who made his first appearance at this weight since reaching the World Junior Finals in 2010.

Iowa's two-time NCAA Champion, Matt McDonough (57KG), suffered a controversial 10-7 loss in his semifinal against Japan's Fumitaka Morishita, who was 3rd at University Worlds last year.

Morishita would go on to win Gold over Russia's Vladislav Petrov while McDonough rebounded for Bronze, beating Ukrainian Petro Bileichuk.

Anthony Ashnault (NJ/Rutgers) went 0-1 in his international debut, losing to Moldova's Mihail Sava.

The Freestyle portion of University Worlds continues tomorrow as American's BJ Futrell (61KG), James Green (70KG), Chris Perry (86KG), and Tyrell Fortune (125KG) take the mats.

Womens Freestyle begins tomorrow as well with Erin Golston (48KG) and Samantha Klingel (55KG) in action.
