NY Clubs vs Jersey Clubs: Who Will Reign Supreme?
NY Clubs vs Jersey Clubs: Who Will Reign Supreme?
It was just over a year ago when Pennsylvania's Young Guns was ranked the number one wrestling club in the country. At the time, Young Guns led the country in nationally ranked wrestlers so no complaints were made...then they went Pop and Flo National Duals and finished fourth, losing to top flight teams from New York and New Jersey. The New York and New Jersey clubs weren't impressed be that PA swagger.
You could bring any club in from around the country (and Pop and Flo often does), but it seems like year after year we see New York and New Jersey clubs battling it out for the title, in particular: X-Cel Wrestling (NY), Iron Horse WC (NJ) & Apex (NJ). They'll all be here again this weekend so we'll get to see, front-and-center, which state hosts the best club team in the Northeast -maybe the country!
Oh but there's much more: the Pop and Flo Nationals All Star Dual. A highlight of Saturday night competition, the All Star Dual features two teams of hand selected studs paired against each other for the sake of the crowd. Last year we saw a ton of state champs and nationally ranked wrestlers scrap it out here: Peppelman (PA) v. Rasheed (NY), Ashnault (NJ) v. Kelly (NY), Nolf (PA) v. Delvecchio, Yanni (NY) v. Devin Brown (PA), etc. This type of stuff's coming your way at Pop and Flo.
