Man oh man, what a weekend of conference action! Upsets on upsets, sick scrambles and outstanding performance. Conference week lived up to the hype and then some! Sifting through all the conference results and trying to just recognize a handful of individuals was not easy!

Our Brute wrestler of the week navigated a brutal field at 141 pounds at EIWA’s. Todd Preston from Harvard knocked off Laike Gardner first, then in the finals he bested 5th ranked Luke Vaith in dramatic fashion. For his efforts Todd Preston has been named the Brute Wrestler of the Week!

Other Brute Wrestler of the Week Nominees

Tony Nelson-Tony looked like Tony again. That’s bad news for everyone else at 285. He won the toughest conference bracket in the country. There wasn’t even a close 2nd.

Markus Scheidel-The Columbia Freshman may have fallen a bit short of the prize at 157, but he notched two massive wins over Brian Realbuto of Cornell and Joey Napoli of Lehigh.

Joey Lazor-The Panther train was rollin’ at MACs and Lazor was one of the big heroes for the Panthers when he knocked off both Zach Horan and Chris Mecate! Lazor had some rough patches this year, but is looking like a hammer when it matters most!

Chris Perry-Perry’s win. It’s like a scientific fact. He knocked off Andrew Howe at Big 12’s. What else do you need to know?
