In a season of uncertainty, the hits just keep on coming.
With the dual on the line, Adam Coon scored a takedown in the second overtime against Tony Nelson, the two-time defending national champion, to complete the upset against Minnesota.
The Wolverines got the ball rolling early, winning five of the first six bouts including upset wins by Eric Grajales and Brian Murphy over Nick Dardanes and Dylan Ness, respectively.
But the Gophers talented back half got them on track again. With the dual 16-14 heading to heavyweight, Minnesota needed a Nelson win to take the dual. But Adam Coon had other ideas, as he countered a Nelson shot for the win.
