"I think we have a legit shot to place ten at the state. We now return ten state qualifiers and eight of those were top twelve or better a year ago. Now odds are we won't place ten, as that is the state record we set in 2012, but with the Hokit's I think we have a top five team in the nation. We're more balanced than top-end, but I think we could compete at any type of event with Nevills, the Hokit brothers, Gaytan, Olivas, etc. The Top Gun will be a good test against Massillon Perry. Where we shake out depends on what everyone else has. Our weakest spots, outside of 182, are previous state qualifiers or kids who would have qualified but couldn't make our team." - Adam Tirapelle, Assistant Coach

Season Outlook:
"We obviously return a very strong team and I think our strength of schedule will definitely test them. Other teams in our state have also improved their line-ups over the summer with move-ins and transfers, but we are going to focus on improving each day instead of focusing on other teams and who they may or may not have in their line-ups. We have an excellent coaching staff who are committed to helping each wrestler maximize their potential. Our team motto this year is "Conquer the Day!" It means to focus on getting better one day at a time, and by the end of the season all of those days will add up and we will be where we need to be. Our goal is to repeat as state champions and get fourteen individual medalists at the state tournament. We will use tough tournaments like Ironman and Kansas City Stampede to challenge and evaluate our wrestlers but hopefully to also give our team some national recognition." - Andy Schneider

As a team, it will be difficult to get by Oak Park River Forest. We are a solid team with a lot of experience. People have been calling us young for a number of years now, and that isn't the case anymore. I think we are going to surprise a lot of people this season." - Brendan Heffernan

3/7-9: State Tournament

Season Outlook:
"We have a good balance of kids of all ages in our lineup. Evan DeLuise has the luxury of working out with some studs down below to improve in some key areas. We expect big things from Bierdumpfel. With some hard work and confidence I believe he can over come what some might believe is the impossible and beat Suriano. Gonzalez, after making is college decision, should wrestle comfortable all season and look to become a two time state champ. Cali, placed fifth at NHSCA nationals, beat four who placed ahead of him in the state. I believe if he gets more offensive he can win the tournament. No one knows who Jeremy Soto is but he will place in the state and high. He lost the round to place at NHSCA nationals by a point to the kid who took third. He transferred in last year after the NJ cut-off, so he wasn't able to wrestle in the state tournament. Farinaro has the ability to win the state tournament if he wrestles his match. Both Chakonis', I believe, can win a state title this year." - Chris Bitetto
