Foster Wins Gold, Perry Takes Bronze in Armenia
VANADZOR, Armenia – Former Oklahoma State wrestlers Clayton Foster and Chris Perry represented the United States at 84 kilograms at the Stepan Sargsyan International here Saturday.
Foster, a former Cowboy and the current club coach at Wyoming, took home the 84 kg title and gold medal, winning all three of his bouts.
Perry, the 2013 NCAA champion at 184 pounds, finished third, wrestling in his first freestyle tournament of the summer.
“It was good to be back on the mat and competing again,” Perry said. “I was a little small for the weight, but it’s always good to wrestle the world’s best guys.”
The tournament continues tomorrow with the remaining weights, including former OSU standout Chris Pendleton taking the mat at 96 kg.
