After a banner year in that saw him win two of California's toughest tournaments, Corey Griego has committed to the Beavers for next year.

A 170lber from Sultana, Griego won titles at Doc Buchanan and Temecula Valley after placing 4th at both the Ironman and Freak Show. He went on to claim Runner-Up honors at the state tournament.

We had a chance to talk to Corey about his decision.

WS: Why did you ultimately choose Oregon State?

CG: I chose Oregon state because it has a great program and atmosphere and was a perfect fit for me.

WS: What is your relationship with the coaches and wrestlers at Oregon State like?

CG: My relationship with the coaches and wrestlers is amazing so far and I'm looking forward to it growing stronger.

WS: What other schools were you down to?

CG: I was really focused on Oregon State but I kept in contact with Old Dominion and Michigan State also.

WS: What was your recruiting experience like?

CG: It was good. I enjoyed getting to know the Oregon State coaching staff and their wrestlers.

WS: What will you do with the rest of your summer?

CG: Train and get ready for next year.

Congratulations to Corey and the Oregon State Wrestling program!
