Sitting In The Finals At WTT's: Good or Bad?

The World Team Trials are coming up this Friday and Saturday. The country's best wrestlers will look to make their dreams come true by winning a spot on the World Team and the opportunity to compete for a World medal.
All of the Champions from April's U.S. Open will have a bye to the finals. The rest will compete in a challenge tournament to meet those Open Champs.
So, the boys at Flo are saying there is quite some value in getting in some matches prior to the finals. While I'm cemented in my position that it's exponentially more advantageous to sit in the finals.
Here are the Pro's and Con's, as far as I can tell.
The Good:
- Rest
- Can scout potential opponents
- No risk of injury
- Don't get beat up
- You're In The Finals!
The Bad:
- You're cold. No prep matches.
Am I missing something?
Now, if you look at 2009, Joe Flo and Bader could be on to something. That was the year after an Olympics, just as this year is.
Below are the wrestlers that won the spot in the last cycle despite having to wrestle through the challenge tournament.
2012:
Coleman Scott (60KG FS)* def. Shawn Bunch and Reece Humphrey
*Special Wrestle Offs at Later Date
Kelsey Campbell (55KG) def. Helen Maroulis
Stephany Lee (72KG) def. Ali Bernard
2011:
Nick Simmons (55KG FS) def. Sam Hazewinkel
Cael Sanderson (84KG FS) def. Jake Herbert
2010:
Mike Zadick (60KG FS) def. Shawn Bunch
Kristie Davis (67KG) def. Erin Clodgo
Brent Metcalf (66KG) def. Jared Frayer
2009:
Jessica Medina (51KG) def. Patricia Miranda
Deanna Rix (59KG) def. Kelsey Campbell
Shawn Bunch (60KG FS) def. Mike Zadick
Chas Betts (84KG GR) def. TC Dantzler
Dustin Schlatter (74KG) def. Travis Paulson
Ali Bernard (72KG) def. Jenna Pavlik
Danny Felix (55KG FS) def. Nick Simmons
Tatiana Padilla (55KG) def. Leigh Jaynes
Tervel Dlagnev (120KG FS) def. Steve Mocco
So what do you guys think? We'd love to hear your opinions below.
