In gearing up for what will be the biggest and baddest FloNationals yet, we’ll be bringing you stud alerts as the top kids from around the country register for the deepest all-class folkstyle national championship in the country.
We have a young one, but a good one for you this time: Rudy Yates of Brother Rice Illinois.
Currently ranked 7th in the country at 106lbs, the Freshman Yates won a state title two weeks ago in Illinois’ big school division. In the finals, Yates beat the #9-ranked Miguel Silva, who was a Fargo Champ last summer.
It was Yates second big title. Last October, he beat #12-Jack Mueller in the finals of USAW’s Preseason Nationals.
