10th Annual Brute Folkstyle Nationals

Brute Folkstyle Nationals enters its historic 10th edition. This year’s event will be held April 11-14 in the spacious Independence Events Center in Independence, Missouri.
In previous year’s some of the nation’s best have grace the mats at Folkstyle Nationals. Future Olympic Champions Jake Varner and Henry Cejudo are two of the many talented athletes to win crowns at Brute. Kendrick Maple, the Top Ranked and undefeated wrestler at 141lbs this season for the Oklahoma Sooners was the Outstanding Wrestler of the 2008 Brute Nationals.
Averaging 1,500 participants each year from Grades 1 through 12, Brute Folkstyle Nationals is a monster tournament that recycles its proceeds back to support athletics through the R.E.A.C.H.E.S program.
Additionally, this year, they have added a $5,000 Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a Senior in memory of Captain Josiah Henson the founder of Brute who passed away last year after the NCAA Championships.
