#1-Blair Takes Care of Business at #2-St. Ed

Annually it’s one of the country’s most prolific duals. The history of the two teams both in high school and with their individuals at the next level is second to none. This year, they came in as the #1 and #2 teams in the country yet again.
Blair, who won over St. Edward, 32-20 on Saturday, was able to get the job done despite missing two key starters in the middle of their line-up: #10-Dylan Milonas (145) and #5-Russ Parsons (152), depriving us of ranked match-ups with #4-Edgar Bright and #17-Markus Scheidel, respectively.
The individual bout to highlight the dual was a great performance from both wrestlers at 132. Joey McKenna (Blair) was in on several shots but unable to finish on Dean Heil. Later, Heil would go upperbody for a 4-point play. McKenna then hit an inside trip with double overhooks, getting the takedown, but missing on the nearfall. Heil took it 7-4.
The dual was tight throughout, but Blair’s back half of the line-up closed the door.
The Eagles last lead came at 152 when they held a 16-15 edge before the Bucs went on a roll. Only Domenic Abounader would win for St. Edward as Blair took 5 of the last 6 bouts.
