Hoosiers Down by #5 Ohio State BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana University wrestling team (6-5) dropped a 36-3 contest to #5 Ohio State (8-2) Friday night with a depleted lineup missing six opening-night starters. Redshirt sophomore Taylor Walsh earned a 4-2 victory over 16th-ranked Josh Demas at 157 pounds.

Walsh, ranked ninth nationally, notched his fifth win over a nationally-ranked opponent this season by defeating Demas. The Cherry Hill, N.J., native ran his season record to 23-6 overall, 10-1 in dual matches and 2-1 during the Big Ten schedule. Walsh overcame a first-period takedown and clenched the final four points of the bout on two escapes, a stalling point and substantial riding time advantage.

Ryan Konz, filling in for an injured Ryan LeBlanc at 165 pounds, nearly made it back-to-back Hoosier victories. He held a 4-2 advantage with less than 30 seconds remaining in the bout before a late takedown forced sudden victory and an eventual 6-4 defeat.

Luke Sheridan (184 lbs.) and Adam Chalfant (285 lbs.) were also near victors, coming up short by a combined three points. Sheridan owned a lead over three-time NCAA qualifier C.J. Magrum midway through the third period and Chalfant was five seconds shy of a sudden victory period; falling, 2-1, on a 1:05 riding time edge for #10 Peter Capone.
