4 Technicians, 1 Move: The Inside Trip
The inside trip is an outstanding move that can be hit from a variety of positions and ties. It's commonly a feet-to-back move, and if mastered, it can be your go-to when you're down by five. Here we have four technicians showing where they like to hit the inside trip from. Esposito hits the move in combination with another move, Cejudo uses a bait set up to draw his opponent into his trip, Dubuque likes to hit his trip from the front head and Muzaffar likes to hit his trip from...a variety of positions really. Make sure to check his trip when his opponent is controlling him from the two-on-one.
Dave Esposito Shows Foot Sweep Set Up to Inside Trip
Esposito likes to attempt the foot sweep, and then when his opponent reacts/counters the attempt, he transitions perfectly to the inside trip. H always back steps into the inside trip, and Espo points out that when you hit the trip, you should sag on the side of your trip and punch the opposite arm through the other side.
Henry Cejudo Shows Bait Set Up to Inside Trip
From the over-under position, Henry sometimes retreats and acts scared when his opponents are pressuring in. He is just baiting them to set up his inside trip. He will play scared, go back, go back and then go forward right into his inside trip.
Dubuque's Front Head to the Inside Trip
Joe Dubuque shows an extremely effective way to get into an inside trip. He starts by pulling his opponent down into a front head from an underhook. He then back steps into his inside trip and releases the head. As Zeb would say "that's dirt mcgurt!".
Muzaffar's Inside Trip from Multiple Positions
Muzaffar starts by showing how to hit the inside trip from a clinch or body lock, then he shows an extremely wicked inside trip when his opponent is controlling him with a two-on-one. Both great set ups, but the second is my favorite by far.
