Highly coveted prospect, Ryan Diehl of Trinity High School in Pennsylvania, became the University of Maryland's first commitment on Thursday.
Diehl won a state title this year in PA, defeating the returning champion, Jason Nolf, in the process. He's been a hot commodity since chatter began about this recruiting class.
Last fall he turned in one of the most dazzling performances when he knocked off highly ranked George DiCamillo (St. Ignitius, OH/Univ. of Virginia) in the finals at 120lbs.
For Diehl, his PA crown was his 3rd state title. He won two in West Virginia for Berkely Springs before heading to PA.
