C.J. Magrum Named to NWCA All-Academic Division I Team
Magrum is a three-time recipient
COLUMBUS, Ohio – C.J. Magrum, a member of the Ohio State wrestling team, was named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association All-Academic Division I Team, the NWCA announced Tuesday. Magrum, a redshirt junior from Oak Harbor, Ohio, is a three-time recipient.
A communications major, Magrum’s season abruptly came to an end during the 2012 Big Ten Championships because of an injury. Despite qualifying for the NCAA championships in the 184-pound weight class, Magrum was forced to relinquish his spot because he was unable to compete. For his career, Magrum has qualified for the NCAA championships three consecutive seasons (2010, ‘11 and ‘12).
Magrum posted a 19-5 overall record during the 2011-12 season and is 67-39 for his career. In dual competition, Magrum was 10-1 overall this past year, including a 3-0 ledger in the Big Ten.
Academically, Magrum is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and three-time Ohio State Scholar-Athlete.
