Buckeyes Conclude Big Ten Season

Ohio State wrapped up the Big Ten regular season with back-to-back 24-13 wins vs. Michigan and at Michigan State, respectively.

On Senior Day Feb. 3, the Buckeyes downed rival Michigan behind six wins, including a pair of falls by freshmen Logan Stieber and Andrew Campolattano. With the Scarlet and Gray up 18-10, Campolattano, a 197-pounder, pinned Chris Heald in 18 seconds to propel Ohio State to a 24-10 lead and the team win. It was the second pin of the evening for the Buckeyes as Stieber pinned No. 16 Zac Stevens in 4:14 at 133 pounds. For the complete recap, click HERE.

Two days later, Ohio State finished the Big Ten Conference with a 5-3 record after beating the Spartans. Collecting 12 points in the final two matches proved to be the difference maker in an otherwise close match. Michigan State had a 15-12 lead with two bouts remaining at 125 and 133 pounds. Ohio State was awarded six points in the 125-pound match between freshman and No. 16 Johnni Dijulius and Eric Olanowski after the Spartan was disqualified. Two points also were deducted from MSU’s team score.

As the Buckeyes suddenly jumped out to an 18-13 lead, Stieber recorded his 13th pin of the season to seal the Ohio State victory. Stieber, ranked No. 3, downed Brandon Fifield in 1:36. For the complete recap, click HERE.
