Preliminary Brackets for Midlands Championships Announced

EVANSTON, Ill. – Preliminary brackets for the 49th Annual Ken Kraft Midlands Championships were released Wednesday night. Six NU wrestlers are seeded for their respective weight classes including top-seeded Jason Welch at 157 lbs. Levi Mele is seeded fourth at 125 lbs., Kaleb Friedley is the No. 9 seed at 149 lbs., Pierce Harger comes in at No. 12 for 165 lbs., Lee Munster received a No. 5 seed at 174 lbs. and Mike McMullan is the No. 11 seed at heavyweight.
Please note that these are the preliminary brackets and official final brackets will be released following ThursdayÂ’s weigh-ins.
Tickets are still available for Midlands by calling 1-888-GOPURPLE or at the door. Wrestling begins at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning inside Welsh-Ryan Arena and Session II begins at 7 p.m., Thursday. Friday, the third session begins at noon and Session IV including the first, third and fifth matches, begins at 7 p.m.
