Flowrestling is proud to announce that they will be bringing you a LIVE streaming broadcast of the super match between Jake Herbert and Ben Askren. The match will take place at the prestigious Midlands college wrestling tournament on December 30. They will wrestle at 3:30pm CST between the semifinals and finals.

Flowrestling founder Martin Floreani will be the one on site to cover this much anticipated rematch between two of the country's top wrestlers. In 2006, these two were regarded by many as the top pound-for-pound wrestlers in the NCAA, regardless of weight class. It was the most anticipated match at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City at the 2006 NCAA finals, where Askren won by major decision. They wrestled again a couple years later in freestyle, and this time, Herbert got the better of the two.

Ben Askren was a 4x NCAA finalist and a 2x undefeated NCAA champion, winning the Dan Hodge trophy in both his junior and senior campaigns. In 2008, he represented the United States in the Beijing Olympic games at 74kg. In 2009, he started his mixed martial arts career and has had success so far, competing for the Bellator Fighting Championships. He won their season 2 welterweight (170lbs) tournament, and then defeated the Bellator welterweight champion earning himself the title.

Jake Herbert was a 4x all-american, 3x NCAA finalist and 2x undefeated NCAA champion, winning the Dan Hodge Trophy in 2009, as well as being named the Big 10 Athlete of the year. Later that year, in 2009, he represented the United States at 84kg in the world championships and displayed his abilities on the world stage bringing home a silver medal.

The super match between the two is sure to be a crowd pleaser, as both wrestlers have exciting styles and both like to put it all on the line each time they step out onto the mat. This match will take place with folkstyle rules, and there is no weight class; they will simply show up and wrestle. On top of their world class wrestling abilities, they both have outgoing and entertaining personalities which are great for the sport. It would not surprise me to see a little bit of friendly trash talking from either of these two as they are actually friends (I double checked Facebook just to be sure). But make no mistake, once the whistle blows they will be going at it 100%
