WATCH

1. Get An Early Look At The College Wrestling Season

The opening weeks of the college wrestling season offer a first look at how wrestlers have developed during the offseason.

The Clarion Open gives competitors an opportunity to establish themselves, build momentum and begin making a case for bigger opportunities as the schedule progresses.

Early-season tournaments can also provide a glimpse into how teams approach their lineups and which wrestlers are ready to take on larger roles.

2. See How Ohio State's Wrestlers Perform

Ohio State is among the programs scheduled to compete at the Clarion Open. The Buckeyes enter the tournament with an opportunity to test their wrestlers in individual competition before moving deeper into the dual-meet schedule.

For fans following the Big Ten, the tournament provides an early chance to evaluate Ohio State's individual performances and see which wrestlers make an impression on the mat.

3. Watch Wrestlers From Six Division I Programs Compete

The Clarion Open features entries from six Division I programs: Air Force, Bloomsburg, Bucknell, Clarion, Ohio State and Utah Valley.

With wrestlers from different conferences and programs sharing the same brackets, the tournament creates opportunities for unfamiliar opponents to meet and for competitors to measure themselves against new competition.

Those matchups can provide an early look at how wrestlers compare across programs.

4. Find The Next Breakout Wrestler

Early-season tournaments can be a launching point for wrestlers looking to establish themselves. Freshmen making their college debuts, younger wrestlers seeking bigger roles and returning competitors looking to improve all have an opportunity to make a statement.

A strong performance at the Clarion Open can help put a wrestler on the radar before the season's major tournaments arrive. Fans should watch for competitors who string together wins, show improved offense or make a deep run through their brackets.
