The 2026 Senior World Championships are scheduled for Oct. 24 through Nov. 1 in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The nine-day event will feature the world's top men's freestyle, women's freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers competing for world titles. The championships were originally awarded to Manama, Bahrain, before United World Wrestling announced Astana as the replacement host in May 2026.

The 2026 Senior World Championships will take place from Oct. 24 through Nov. 1.

Competition will be held across nine days and include all three Olympic wrestling disciplines: men's freestyle, women's freestyle and Greco-Roman.

Where Are The 2026 Senior World Championships?

The 2026 Senior World Championships will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan.

United World Wrestling selected Astana as the replacement host city after determining that the event would be moved from Bahrain. Astana previously hosted the 2019 World Championships, one of the largest wrestling world championships on record.

Who Competes At The Senior World Championships?

The Senior World Championships feature the top wrestlers from countries around the globe.

Athletes qualify through their national federations and compete in men's freestyle, women's freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. World champions are crowned in each senior-level weight class.
