1st period: The 2025 World bronze medalist Real Woods takes the mat to face Virginia Tech freshman phenom Bo Bassett. These two waste no time. Woods They get tangled up early, Woods nearly has a go behind before whipping Bassett over for two, but Bassett recovers and immediately pancakes Woods for two of his own. They go back to the center and the crowd is energized! Woods looking upper body but Bassett gets low and drives Woods out of bounds for one more. Heavy hand fighting for the rest of the period. Bo leads 3-2 at the break.

2nd period: More heavy hands for the first thirty. Bassett drops to a leg, climbs up, gets Woods' back and thunders him to the mat for a 5-2 lead. 2 minutes remain in the match. Bassett continues to wear on Woods. Snap down and Bassett spins behind for two more. It's 7-2 with 90 seconds remaining. Bassett applies more pressure. He's back on a leg and takes Woods out to extend his lead to 8-2. One minute remaining. Bassett attacks but Woods blocks and gets a go behind of his own to cut the lead to 8-4. 39 seconds on the clock on the restart. Bassett does not force an engagement as the clock ticks down. Woods perplexingly stays at a distance until the final seconds, when Bo shoots in and time runs out. Bassett will take match 1 with a convincing, high-paced 8-4 win. 

1st period: Kylie Welker strikes first shortly after the first whistle with a quick takedown. She works a leg lace in par terre but Guilford defends. It's 2-0 after 30 seconds. Guilford takes a half shot and is then hit with a caution for passivity. Guilford is put on the activity clock after a second passivity. One passivity point for Welker, who then snatches a single leg and drives Guilford out of bounds for another point in short time. The period ends 4-0 for Welker.

2nd period: Collar ties for the most of the first 30 seconds. Guildford changes levels and drives in. Back to collar ties. At the midway point of the period Guildford gets aggressive and a flurry ensues but it's stalemated. One minute to go, still 4-0 Welker. Guilford picks up the pace, drives Welker to the boundary. Welker tries to counter but she gives up the step out. 4-1 in short time. The buzzer sounds and Welker takes match one by a 3 point margin.
