Who's Number One is a Celebration
One of the best things about WNO, besides the fact that it brings the best high school wrestlers from across the country to compete for the number one ranking in the nation, is how it celebrates and elevates the hardest working athletes in the oldest and greatest sport in the world.
And WNO truly is a celebration of the sport of wrestling. The hard part is done. The proverbial hay is in the metaphorical barn. The worst that can happen to a participant is they get ranked #2 in the nation.

The girls bouts start at 2:00 PM Central/3:00 PM Eastern and the boys are slated to get going at 5:30 PM Central/6:30 PM Eastern.

Why Should You Watch
For a chance to watch the stars of tomorrow, today. The illustrious alumni from WNO's past reads like a veritable Who's Who of American wrestling. And the accolades of the current crop of competitors are just as impressive as any previous year.
We've got U17 World champs, U20 World medalists, Fargo champs, Super 32 champs — you name the tournament, and chances are good someone in those matchups has been on the podium.
These ascendant luminaries will also be taking their talents to the NCAA, either next year or soon thereafter. Nittany Lion fans can watch four future Penn Staters in Stillwater. Virginia Tech has two future Hokies in the mix. North Carolina has two recruits. Northern Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Little Rock, Air Force, Maryland and Ohio State can all boast of one Who's Number One participant who will eventually be matriculating on their campus.
Iowa and Iowa State have recruits in both the boys and girls matches. Iowa State has the most distaff commits, with two. The recently crowned winners of the inaugural NCAA Women's Wrestling Championship, McKendree, has two future Bearcats. Crete, Nebraska's Doane University also has a commit at the event.
Frankly, it would be irresponsible for a college wrestling fan to miss this year's Who's Number One.
