What Should You Expect?
Remember when Page and Miracle wrestled in a memorable three-match series in 2022? Here’s a refresher.
Miracle was scheduled to face Page at Final X New York on June 8, but the series was delayed until August 13 at J.P. McCaskey High School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The two met in the U.S. Open finals on April 29, and Miracle was a heavy favorite after an 18-second fall.
Instead, Page dominated Miracle, 13-2, in the first match of the special wrestle-off, leading some to wonder if Miracle was healthy enough for a return.
Then, Miracle rebounded with a 12-2 tech in match two.
Page was ahead 3-1 in match three before Miracle hit a strange four-point throw out of bounds with 47 seconds left for a 5-3 win and a spot on the World Team. She went on to win her second straight silver medal at the World Championships.
Page attempted to make the team at 62 kg the following year but lost in the 2023 US Open finals to Adaugo Nwachukwu before cutting to 59 kg, where she eventually made the team and earned a bronze at the World Championships.
Page attempted to make the 2024 Olympic Team at 62 kg before moving up to 65. She looked sharp at the World Team Trials, and, if this is a repeat of 2022, this should be a fun and competitive series.
Miracle still holds a slight edge. Her diverse attacks will serve her well against a strong and solid wrestler like Page. However, if Page can finish clean and survive flurries, this could go three matches again.
