Below is a women's freestyle college fan guide for the 2026 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament on May 14-15 in Louisville, Kentucky. The winner at each weight will compete at Final X — a best-of-three series to determine the U.S. World Team on Friday, June 19, in Newark, New Jersey.

Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association (WCWA)
This organization was created in 2008, providing women with an opportunity to compete. It included all divisions, and the end-of-the-year tournament was considered the college national championship. The final WCWA championship was held in 2020.
National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Invitational
The NAIA held an invitational tournament until it sanctioned women’s wrestling for the 2022-23 season.

The NAIA was the first division to offer sanctioned women’s college wrestling during the 2022-23 season.
National Collegiate Women’s Wrestling Championships (NCWWC)
This division includes all NCAA programs (D1, D2, and D3), and the first national championship was held in 2020.
