Mitchell Mesenbrink Remains No. 1 Wrestler In Latest NCAA Rankings

Mitchell Mesenbrink tops FloWrestling’s latest Pound-for-Pound rankings, featuring college wrestling’s best across all weight classes.

Mitchell Mesenbrink continues to set the standard in college wrestling, holding the No. 1 spot in FloWrestling’s latest Pound-for-Pound rankings, released Tuesday. The Penn State junior leads a list packed with NCAA contenders and All-American talent across multiple weight classes.

Ohio State’s Jesse Mendez remains No. 2, followed by Penn State’s Levi Haines at No. 3. Illinois’ Lucas Byrd and Penn State’s Shayne Van Ness round out the top five, giving the Nittany Lions three wrestlers in the top five. Iowa State’s Rocky Elam and Penn State’s Josh Barr check in at Nos. 6 and 7, respectively.

The rankings reflect consistency at the top, with all 20 wrestlers holding their previous positions. Notable names include Iowa State heavyweight Yonger Bastida at No. 8, Iowa’s Michael Caliendo at No. 10, and NC State’s Isaac Trumble at No. 19.
