Aaron Brooks Receives Two Year Ban For Anti-Doping Rules Violation
An independent arbiter for the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that Brooks will receive a 2 year ban after testing positive for an anabolic agent.

The US Anti-Doping Agency announced today that an independent arbiter has determined that Aaron Brooks will receive a two-year suspension for "testing positive for an anabolic agent during an out-of-competition drug test on April 21, 2025".
Brooks, a four-time NCAA champion at Penn State from the years 2021-2024 and an Olympic bronze medalist at 86kg in men's freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympics, tested positive for an "anabolic agent of exogenous origin", which in this case was DHEA.
The independent arbiter heard cases from both Brooks and his representatives and USADA to determine if Brooks had "met his burden of establishing that his violations were unintentional and if so, whether he can establish no significant fault or negligence."
USADA was seeking a four-year ban, however, because the arbiter determined that Brooks' violation was unintentional, the period of ineligibility was set at two years. Because Brooks' provisional suspension began on June 13, 2025, his period of ineligibility will expire on June 12, 2027, thus rendering Brooks ineligible to participate in the World Team Trials process in 2026 and 2027, although he will be eligible to participate in the 2028 Olympic Team Trials process.
