Ever since Ohio State dominated its way through the National Duals Invitational Presented by Paycom in November, wrestling fans around the country have looked forward to a showdown between the #2 Buckeyes and the #1 powerhouse Penn State program. 125: #1 Luke Lilledahl, Penn State dec #4 Nic Bouzakis, Ohio State 4-1 in SV1

First Period: The first half of the period was slow on action, but at the 90 second mark, Lilledahl took a deep single leg. Bouzakis countered and nearly scored, but Lilledahl recovered up to his feet. No score at the end of the first.

Second Period: Bouzakis chose bottom. He escapes in 15 seconds. Both guys show quite a bit of respect for each other on their feet. Action was limited in the second.

Third Period: Lilledahl chooses bottom. He gets to his feet right away and escapes in 7 seconds. It's tied. Lilledahl gets deep on a shot with a couple seconds left, but time expires.

Sudden Victory: Lilledahl gets deep on a single 20 seconds into the period. He finishes and flexes for the BJC crowd.

First Perod: Blaze and Davino are familiar opponents from their youth, high school, and freestyle days, and it shows in the first period. No committed attacks in the first two minutes of the period. The rest of the period ends the same way. No score.

Second Period: Davino chooses bottom and escapes in 6 seconds. Both guys maintain incredible position in the second which prevents attacks.

Third Period: Blaze chooses bottom. Davino commits to the ride, but Blaze works his way out. Riding time is at 11 seconds for Davino. He gets deep on an attack at the 90 second mark and works to finish on the edge. Blaze dives out of bounds, and they're back to the center with less than a minute to go. No score at the end.,

Second Period: Mendez chooses bottom and escapes under 10 seconds. He leads 4-0. Mendez hits a pancake off Davis' shot! He gets a takedown and 3 nearfall to take a 10-0 lead! Mendez cuts Davis. He hits a massive double to take Davis to his back. He earns 2 nf and now leads 15-1 with 20 seconds to go as the go out of bounds. 

Third Period: Davis chooses bottom, and Mendez cuts him to make it 15-2. He looks for the pancake near the edge, but the go out of bounds. Davis is hit for stalling with 1:20 to go. Mendez takes Davis down with a knee-pull to lock up the tech.

149: #1 Shayne Van Ness, Penn State tf Brogan Fielding, Ohio State 20-5

First Period: Ohio State sends out Daxton Chase instead of All-American Ethan Stiles. Chase keeps it scoreless half way through the first. Van Ness hits a nice post-double and gets a takedown with a little over a minute to go to take a 3-0 lead. Van Ness rides out and ends the period with 1:14 of riding time.

Second Period: Chase chooses bottom, and Van Ness cuts him. A quick takedown makes it 6-1, and another escape makes it 6-2. Van Ness hits a single and finishes quickly with 1:15 to go to make it 9-2. Van Ness cuts him again to make it 9-3. Van Ness gets a point for a second stall call then secures a takedown as time expires. He leads 13-3.

Third Period: Van Ness chooses bottom and escapes in 7 seconds. He hits a double leg and works to put Fielding on his back. Van Ness had his hands locked, and he's called for a penalty point. It's a strange penalty as he appeared to have a pinning combination locked, but the Penn State coaches don't dispute the call. Van Ness cuts him loose and works for another takedown. He throws one by and secures the 20-5 tech.

First Period: Duke hits a knee pull head outside double right away and scores. He cuts Chase loose and takes him down again. Duke leads 6-1 with 2:12 to go. Duke gives up another escape to build his lead. Another quick takedown and escape makes it 9-3. Duke scores another 3 pointer to make it 12-3. He cuts again and scores again to make it a 15-4 first period beat down for Duke. 

Second Period: Chase chooses neutral. Duke drags to another takedown and leads 18-4. He hits an assassin and secures the second period fall!

165: #1 Mitchell Mesenbrink, Penn State maj dec #14 Paddy Gallagher, Ohio State 12-2

First Period: Mesenbrink is in on a single off the whistle. he finishes in 12 seconds to take a 3-0 lead. The crowd is turning its cheer up. Mesenbrink commits to the ride and has riding time over a minute and a half with around a minute to go in the period. Two stall calls against Gallagher makes it 4-0 at the end of the period, and Mesenbrink has a mountain of riding time.

Second Period: Mesenbrink chooses bottom and escapes. Gallagher gets deep on a high crotch and works for a finish. Mesenbrink defends with a chest wrap and eventually works the position out of bounds. Gallagher gets deep on another high crotch. Mesenbrink finishes the counter with 5 seconds to go and makes it 8-0.

Third Period: Gallagher chooses bottom. Mesenbrink appears committed to the ride. Gallagher escapes with a little over a minute to go. Mesenbrink hits a quick takedown and extends his lead to 11-1. He cuts Gallagher, and it's 11-2. A riding time point makes it 12-2.

Haines moves riding time over a minute and cuts Schierl loose. He earns another quick takedown and leads 6-1 with a minute to go. Haines uses an arm bar to secure 2 nearfall and leads 8-1.

Second Period: Haines chooses bottom. He escapes right away and goes high crotch to double. He finishes with the legs split and settles in looking for the fall. Schierl bellies down, and Haines settles for the 16-1 tech.

184: #1 Rocco Welsh, Penn State dec #8 Dylan Fishback, Ohio State 7-6

First Period: No points in the first minute. There's a break in the action as Welsh takes a finger to the eye. Fishback gets deep on a low single and finishes to take a 3-0 lead. Fishback is hit for stalling with 5 seconds left in the period, but he rides out to take a 3-0 lead and 1:32 of riding time into the second.

Second Period: Fishback chooses bottom. He escapes in 11 seconds, and it's 4-0. Fishback gets deep on another single with a minute to go, but Welsh defends for a stalemate. Welsh is deep on a single with 20 seconds to go but can't finish.

Third Period: Welsh chooses bottom. Fishback continues to ride tough in the first 20 seconds of the period. Welsh escapes with 1:35 to go, but riding time is still over a minute. Second Period: Barr chooses bottom and escapes immediately. He's close to a takedown off an underhook, but the action goes out of bounds after an extended scramble. Barr drops in on another attack with 30 seconds to go and improves his lead to 7-0. He rides out the second.

Third Period: Geog chooses bottom, and Barr cuts him loose to make it 7-1. Geog drops in on a high crotch. Barr defends and stretches him out. He cuts the corner and finishes to make it 10-1. Barr looks for an assassin but can't get it. Action is stalemated with 22 seconds left. Geog escapes on the restart. Riding time makes it 11-2 for Barr.

First Period: Mirasola takes the first committed attack of the dual at the 2:25 mark, but Feldman defends. Feldman takes a half shot, and Mirasola looks for a go-behind, but neither guy scores. 

Second Period: Feldman chooses bottom. He's out in 7 seconds to take a 1-0 lead. Mirasola gets deep on a single and works for a finish. Action goes off the mat. No score. Feldman gets deep on a single, and Mirasola forces a scramble. He nearly scores, but Feldman gets to his feet. Penn State throws a challenge brick, and they're reviewing the sequence. The no takedown call is upheld. 

Third Period: Mirasola chooses bottom. He's out quickly, and it's 1-1. Not much action after that.
