State wrestling titles in Colorado will be up for grabs Feb. 19-21. Keep an eye on the FloWrestling for news, notes and an archived replay of every match!

While Deion Sanders and the University of Colorado Boulder football team seem to own the spotlight and the headlines in the Centennial State during the fall, it’s now time for the top high school wrestlers in the state to get all the attention.
The student-athletes are days away from the regional meets that will determine the competitors for the 2026 Colorado High School Activities Association State Wrestling Championships, which will be held Feb. 19-21 at the Ball Arena in Denver.
Though the state tournament won’t be broadcast live on FloWrestling or the FloSports app, each match will appear in the FloWrestling archives minutes after concluding.

Before the teams can book their travel and hotel rooms in the capital city, they first must battle through their regional events on Feb. 13-14.
There are four classifications for the boys (2A, 3A, 4A, 5A) that are based on student enrollment (smallest to largest), and each has four regional events that qualify four wrestlers per weight class for the state meet.
The girls side includes two classes (4A, 5A), each with four regionals and four qualifiers per weight class.
Once they reach the state competition, the regional champions earn the first four spots in the brackets and are seeded based on past performances.
The Ball Arena, which can seat more than 20,000 fans, stays busy with more than 250 events each year and serves as the home of the Colorado Avalanche (NHL), Denver Nuggets (NBA), Colorado Mammoth (National Lacrosse League) – and the CHSAA State Wrestling Championships.
In 2025, the first year of two-classification wrestling for the girls, Pueblo Central claimed the 4A title, and Grand Junction Central reigned in Class 5A. It was the first team state championship for each program.
For the boys, the titles went to: Cedaredge (2A), Brush (3A), Pueblo East (4A) and Pomona (5A).
Cedaredge was the only first-time winner for the boys, Brush won for the second time overall and first since 2007, Pueblo East won its fourth championship, last winning in 2023, and Pomona added another star to its legacy, taking the top spot for the 12th time overall and fifth consecutive year at the 5A level.
Across both state tournaments (girls and boys), six programs and 84 individuals won state wrestling titles. The weekend featured more than 1,300 wrestlers.
One wrestler concluded his career undefeated at the state event, as Traven Sharon of Fowler won his fourth straight title at 126 pounds.
Three other boys became three-time winners, and another 16 athletes (13 boys and three girls) hoisted the trophy for the second time.
A dozen athletes across both fields completed undefeated seasons.
As you get settled in for the new championship season, here’s everything you need to know about the 2026 CSHAA Wrestling State Championships, including links to the brackets.
