#4 Landri Von Gonten and #4 Kailin Sebert Headed For Texas-Sized Showdown
Landri Von Gonten and Kailin Sebert are ranked #4 nationally. They are headed for two possible postseason showdowns.

Hold on to your hats. Texas women’s wrestling is preparing for two possible Texas-sized showdowns in February.
National #4 Landri Von Gonten (College Park) could face national #4 Kailin Sebert (Allen) at regionals on February 6-7 and February 13-14 at the Texas State Championships.
How is that possible?
Von Gonten is dropping from 140 to 135 to face Sebert, providing a unique opportunity for two-time state champions to wrestle during their junior seasons.
“Kailin’s a tough competitor, and I’m excited for the opportunity to compete against her,” Von Gonten said. “Matches like that push me to be my best.”
“I am excited for the challenge and opportunity to get better,” Sebert said.
The two faced off during a triangular on November 25, 2025, when Sebert moved up to 140. Von Gonten won by fall in 45 seconds.
They also faced off at the 2025 U17 World Team Trials (61 kg) on April 4, with Von Gonten securing a fall in the final second, but Sebert led 5-4 with 22 seconds left before Von Gonten scored a takedown to go ahead 6-5. Sebert took a desperation shot and was pinned in the final exchange.
